The Ninth Set is Volume 3 in the Passades series. Volumes 1 & 2 contain the first eight sets, which have been released on the Dutch BV Haast label on 2 cds. Volume 3 is released by the German label Die Stadt.
Roger Doyle is a member of Aosdana and has worked extensively in theatre, film and dance. He was seen recently on stage at the Gate theatre's revival of Oscar Wilde's Salome for which he wrote and performed the music. Babel, his magnum opus, was released on a 5-CD set in 1999 and in 2006 the Dublin Electronic Arts Festival released a retrospective double CD of his 1980s work with Operating Theatre, the music-theatre company he co-founded with actress Olwen Fouere.
He has just won the prestigious Magisterium Award at the Bourges International Electro-acoustic Music Competition in France for ‘The Ninth Set’.
